    The Japanese section has finally been updated to include releases from the past two months. The upcoming release list has been updated as well. Here are the highlights:

    Beam
    On 8/25/2001, Beam will release Yotsuya Kaidan (1956) aka The Ghosts Of Yotsuya [BIBJ-1589] and Kaidan Kagamigafuchi (1959) aka The Ghosts Of Kagami Pond [BIBJ-1588]. Both are directed by Masaki Mori. Both are priced at 4800 Yen and will include Japanese (Mono) language track, English subtitles, and coded for region 2. Yotsuya Kaidan will be full screen and Kaidan Kagamigafuchi will be letterboxed and 16x9 enhanced.

    Pioneer
    On 8/24/2001, Pioneer will release Kairo (2001) [KWDV-12] from director Kiyoshi Kurosawa. It will be priced at 4700 Yen and will include Japanese (Stereo) language track, Japanese and English subtitles, letterboxed and 16x9 enhanced, and coded for region 2. Extras include a "making of" documentary and the theatrical trailer.

    Tohokushinsha
    On 9/26/2001, Tohokushinsha will release Party7 (2000) [TBD-1039] from director Katsuhito Ishii (Shark Skin Man And Peach Hip Girl). It will be priced at 4800 Yen and will include Japanese (DD 5.1) language track, English subtitles, letterboxed and 16x9 enhanced, and coded for region 2.     Tokuma
    Tokuma have announced they will be releasing the old Gamera films with English subtitles. This time around both the box sets and the individual releases are supposed to have English subtitles. The DVDs in the box sets should be identical to the individual DVDs.

    The box sets will be priced at 20000 Yen and the individual releases will be priced at 4700 Yen. The Gamera - The Box (1965-1968) box set will have room for the 4 DVDs being released on 11/28/2001.
